Adventist Christian Fellowship

Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF) is Georgia-Cumberland’s ministry to Adventist students on public college and university campuses.  This year there is a strong program continuing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, functioning out of the Advent House, our residential student center on campus.  There is also a well-established chapter at the University of Georgia, Adventist Students for Christ.

College is a major time of transition.  For some Adventist students, they choose to attend a public institution for financial reasons.  Others are seeking degrees in area not offered at an Adventist school or wanting to do research with professors who are actively involved in the research arena.  And there are students who have attended Adventist schools all their lives and are ready for a change.  For each of these students, ACF can serve as a place of connection—connection with others of similar beliefs, connection with God, and ultimately, connection with the community around them in a way that assimilates their faith into their every-day lives.

More interest in ACF is being generated all the time and work is being done to develop groups on the campuses of the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, Chattanooga State Technical Community College, and Georgia Institute of Technology. One of the major needs of ACF ministries is local church members who are willing to get involved and be a consistent welcoming presence in student’s lives.

If you are interested in learning more about what that would look like in your church or if you know Adventist students who attend these schools and would like to know more about what is happening on their campuses or how they can get involved, contact Michaela Lawrence at 865-522-3193 or .
